In 2021, the Columbia County  Board of County Commissioners adopted a recommendation of its Citizen Redistricting Advisory Committee to make several changes to District boundaries.  The adopted plan brought the spread or range between the smallest and largest districts well within acceptable population tolerances, made district shapes more compact and maintained a minority influence district, while not counting the population of two prison facilities within the County.
